“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”
This saying was proven true when a Grade V Science Teacher, Mrs. Rubby Ann C. Camu won Second Place in the Search for SDO – Pasay City’s “Gawad Kagalingan” 2021. Certainly, the idea of staging the Kagalingan started out with a single step.
Camu was one of the 12 awardees of Gawad Kagalingan in consonance with the celebration of Teachers Month, chosen among the different schools in Pasay City.
Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Loreta B. Torrecampo said the Gawad Kagalingan generally aims to motivate the Schools Division of Pasay City teaching personnel, teaching-related officials and non-teaching employees to improve further their work performance and continue their service with deeper sense of dedication and commitment.
Specifically, the search purposes were to recognize and reward officials and personnel for their extra-ordinary and superior performance, innovative ideas, initiatives, and interventions in education and exemplary and worth-emulating ethical behaviors and encourage higher SDOP and school productivity and efficiency.
The SDO Pasay City challenged the teachers to work doubly for the sake of learners’ promotion of academic excellence.
“Let us give the best that we can give to our school. Teachers should teach well and should double the efforts. Just remember however difficult a task is, you can only complete it if you first start it”, Camu stressed.
