“A Journey of a thousand mile begins with a single step.”
This saying was proven true when Juan Sumulong Elementary School dances its way to Cluster 2 Kindergarten Festival of Talents at Padre Zamora Elementary School covered Court last February 2019. Certainly, the idea of staging the talents started out with a single step.
Cluster 2, Kindergarten Festival of Talents with only three schools involved, Juan Sumulong Elementary School, Padre Zamora Elementary School, and Padre Burgos Elementary School.
There certain logic to the idea. Such an event would serve as a stepping stone for talented kindergarten pupils to raise their standards so as to be more competitive to Division contest.
Selected Kindergarten pupils won first place in the Cha-Cha category trained by Frances Rose Pelacio, her creative choreography teaches the kids how to dance gracefully, performers namely Brianna Jashly N. Miguel, Jelzy Mitz Lazaro, Ghilliane Khrystal, Ellyza G. Ozaeta, Cyrille Andrea Tepico, Archeon Rhylle SIbucao, Hyunjin Lee, Kenshien Magdasoc, Mikael Zachary A. Enriquez.
Storytelling narrated by Jen Matthew C. Africa, Story reading by Erika Jen C. Jagodilla, Drawing done by Rex Adrian A. Gorospe, got second place, trainers were Gladys Riel S. Senal and Cecille P. Magadia.
Third place in Vocal Solo by Joshua P. Palomar and Folk Dance performed by Kristina Celine B. Relato, Angelica D. Dalisay, Ashantie Jhaydie T. Galicia, Janna Cawaling, Queen Feence P. Magadia, Rodjun Carl B. Anon, Clint Ashley D. Romerosa, Emyl Andres B. Sumalde, Ian Jay S. Laluyan, Neil Cyrus P. Haplit, trainers were Pelacio and Immy Rose L. Santos.
Dr. Ma. Jessica S. Magayanes, Cluster 2 PSDS, said that they have been doing this contest every year, there have been about 100 talented kindergarten pupils who joined in the event.
With our beloved principal, Miss Norma B. Jamon, believed that “this Kindergarten Festival of Talents aimed to give the best that we can give to our school. Teachers should teach well and should double the efforts in the promotion of their hidden talents.”
Also, under the said Festival of Talents, Kindergarten pupils were trained on how to dance, sing, read, draw and tell a story.
Meanwhile, aside from the recognition,the participants in the Cha-cha Category will undergo one-week training by Miss Pelacio in preparation for the Division Contest.
