The JSES Brigada Eskwela Pagbasa partners with BINHI English Literacy Foundation Inc. this school year 2021-2022. Founded in 2008, the foundation aims to plant seeds of empowerment among Filipino children through its DepEd Adopt-a-School accredited literacy program. BINHI believes that quality education goes a long way and teaching children how to read and write today, then their future and the country’s future is as promising as ever. BINHI imagines the Philippines with millions of youth leading its brighter tomorrow.
Grade II leaners are the beneficiaries of the program for this school year. Mrs Jennifer Rustia, a Grade I teacher wholeheartedly accepted to be a BINHI teacher and attended orientation on September 24, 2021 Parents Pre-orientation was also conduccted on September 30, with BINHI Program Manager Ms. Imelda Mateo, Ms. Jane Cora Abrot, Program Coordinator and Ms. Hannah Carino, Creative Communications Associate.
Mr. Noel F. Junio, JSES Principal and Ms. Dorie Mago, the Brigada Eskwela 2021 Coordinator gave their inspirational message and acknowlegement respectively during the virtual program attended by the BINHI representatives and parent-attendees.
BINHI volunteers will conduct Pre-test to Grade II pupils and the result of the test will be utilized by the teachers and volunteers. Parents and pupils orientation will be conducted via Google Meet on a later date.
Participants will also receive learning kits from the foundation such as books and kits for beginning reading, spelling, and flashcards for basic sight words.
This partnership is a complement to Juan Sumulong Elementary School’s goal to make every JSES pupil a proficient and effective reader.
