Grade V Science Teacher Mrs. Rubby Ann C. Camu received the Outstanding Aghamazing Science Teacher – Elementary Level in the Search for Aghamazing Teacher as part of Project S.I.K.A.P (Science Instruction Keeping Achievable Performance) on January 14, 2022 during the virtual awarding ceremony held at the Schools Division Office in Pasay City and streamed via SDO’s Facebook Page and YouTube Channel.
It is another feather in Ms. Camu’s cap as a classroom teacher. In October 29, 2021 she was awarded Second Place in the SDO Pasay City’s Gawad Kagalingan sa Pagtuturo. Mr. Noel F. Junio, JSES principal, recommended Ms. Camu to be the school representative in the Science Teachers’ competition for her strong potential and innovative teaching strategies to improve learning outcomes in Science teaching specifically in Grade 5. “It was a great honor to represent the school in showcasing new trends in Science Education. The online demonstration teaching was not easy. Despite all the odds, I am truly grateful to have brought home the award.” The endeavor aimed to demonstrate scientific, innovative teaching strategies for improved learning outcomes in Science; benchmark best instructional practices for possible adoption in the online classes; and recognize the efforts of Science Teachers in pursuit of quality and effective-learning process.
In the online class demonstration teaching conducted in December 15, 2021 with Grade 5-Galileo, she discussed on how to design experiment. An experiment on a series connection and a parallel connection. It showcased learning competencies that needed experimentation and in-depth analysis. For other Science teachers, Ms. Camu said, “May we always strive for the best to make Science an enjoyable subject for our learners. The challenges of the new normal should not deter us from responding to the current needs of our pupils. Take this chance to innovate the teaching and learning process using technology and effective pedagogical practices.” J.O. Timuat
