Juan Sumulong Elementary School (JSES) ranked number one out of 19 Elementary schools in Schools Division of Pasay City at Year-End Consultative Planning and Assessment Cum Awarding of Learner Information System (LIS) and the Basic Education Information System (BEIS) last December 7, 2021.

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” This saying was proven true when a Grade V Science Teacher, Mrs. Rubby Ann C. Camu won Second Place in the Search for SDO – Pasay City’s “Gawad Kagalingan” 2021. Certainly, the idea of staging the Kagalingan started out with a single step.

Grade V Science Teacher Mrs. Rubby Ann C. Camu received the Outstanding Aghamazing Science Teacher – Elementary Level in the Search for Aghamazing Teacher as part of Project S.I.K.A.P (Science Instruction Keeping Achievable Performance) on January 14, 2022 during the virtual awarding ceremony held at the Schools Division Office in Pasay City and streamed via SDO’s Facebook Page and YouTube Channel.

The Schools Division Office of Pasay City conferred and recognized the Juan Sumulong Elementary School Project I-SQAN as one of School’s Best Practices for 2020-2021 in the awarding ceremony held at SDO Pasay City on January 10, 2022 and streamed via SDO’s FB Page and YouTube channel.

Student government election is imperative to inculcate student-leadership even during pandemic. In accordance with the DepEd’s Interim Guidelines on Student Government Elections for S.Y. 2021-2022 Under the New Normal, Juan Sumulong Elementary School facilitated a digital SPG election on October 14,2021 where Beatrix Azuka Kris P. Dela Cruz was elected as President of the Supreme Pupil Government for SY 2021-2022.

The JSES Brigada Eskwela Pagbasa partners with BINHI English Literacy Foundation Inc. this school year 2021-2022. Founded in 2008, the foundation aims to plant seeds of empowerment among Filipino children through its DepEd Adopt-a-School accredited literacy program. BINHI believes that quality education goes a long way and teaching children how to read and write today, then their future and the country’s future is as promising as ever. BINHI imagines the Philippines with millions of youth leading its brighter tomorrow.
